Welcome to Monument
The Tri-Lakes area situated on the northern end of El Paso County in Colorado has two great communities; Monument and Palmer Lake. Monument, Colorado, at 7135 feet elevation, has plenty of charm and a cozy feeling of small town living with the convenience of being close to the conveniently located Colorado Springs to the south. Situated next to Pike National Forest to the west, this scenic area has wonderful views of the mountains and great views of the beautiful Air Force Academy grounds. An array of different types of homes are available in this area next to Black Forest, from condominiums and horse property to forested estates. The Lewis-palmer school district has plenty to be proud of with a wide selection of quality programs, successful sports teams, and high test scores. The neighboring community of Palmer Lake to the northwest shares the same schools and the benefits of being a small town with great access to nature and recreation opportunities. The downtown area across from the lake has several great restaurants and is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon dining out. The homes in Palmer Lake are older and unique on smaller lots when compared to Monument to the east. In 1871 General William Jackson Palmer founded this town which has plenty of history, character and surrounded by wild spaces.
